Toolpusher is a privately owned website with no ties, acting on behalf of,
or controlled by any Oil Company, Oil related company or any other company
for that matter. Toolpusher was
setup in 1998 simply to assist people trying to break into the Oil industry
for FREE.
Toolpusher does not charge any fees of any kind for any services offered.
Be aware, there's loads of companies on the web promising to send your
resume to 10,000 oil and gas companies (there is only around 500 O & G
companies world wide!!) and guaranteeing you a job and charging $xxxxx for a
one of payment. Off course they send your CV to companies by email (in
blocks of 100!!!) but in most cases the emails will simply be blocked by spam
filters or manually blocked. Even if they get through do you really think
any one will bother trawling through unsolicited CV's? especially without a
covering letter and not from a individual who is applying for a vacant
position noted on the company website or in a newspaper, I don't think so.
Straight into the recycle bin.
There are other perfectly reputable companies who also charge fees for
their services who deal directly with the oil/related companies and provide
a good service. How do you know the good from the bad? Well with the bad,
direct contact by telephone or address's will not listed or will be unavailable.
There's no real jobs on offer on the website just locations mentioned you may
also be encouraged to enter a members only section, off course on payment of
$xxxx. What you going to find there, not sure to be honest, most likely a
loads of dead links to supposed employers dying to take you on!
Also beware of the website, email or letter offering you an actual job on
some supposed oil terminal or other on payment of a fee first. AVOID THAT
LIKE THE PLAGUE . They are very cunning and will pretend they are setting up
work visas and flights etc to drag you in before they ask for the payment.
Their mails and letters will most likely originate in Nigeria but they will
try and cover this up.
Stay away from a company calling themselves Caledonian
Offshore LTD they have been conning people for years. They have
a website where you fill in a form online, they then send you
some documents to fill in. That's when they hit you for the fee.
They are also taking adverts in Newspapers worldwide and are
sending out mailings as well. BIN THEM. Amazingly their site is
still up and running!!!
Its SIMPLE if a company wants you THEY pay you not
the other way about!
