Hiya! Ive recently completed my european survival and my M.I.S.T course. I have also sat my introduction to lifting and rigging course. Can anyone help me by pointing me in the right direction of prospective employers? I have contacted wood group about a trainee rigger position. Ive been told my C.V has peen put in the trainee file. Its really hard to get into the industry. They dont seem to be training anyone! Whats gonna happen when people retire! I have also contacted agencies but they are not interested in anyone with little experience! Your help would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!

Do you know anyone who works in the Oil Industry? The best way to get your foot in the door is by having a recommendation from someone already there. If you have any friends, family, or friends of friends, get the word out that you are looking for work. Networking is an essential part of the job hunt.

Also, I would apply to multiple employers. I would suggest looking up company websites that you may be interested in online to see if they have any opening in your area. Or you can use an Oil and Gas job site.

Be sure to read the requirements of the job, and do your best to tailor your experiences to fulfill those requirements to each prospective employer. This means a separate "custom" resume to each employer. It's a pain in the ass, but it is one of the secrets that recruiters use to get you the job.

Good Luck!
